Who’s Winning?

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The previous play is under review
And all the officials are watching you
Should you be rejected or should you be praised?
The hit was a hard one, you did come to play

But was it illegal or dirty or cheap?
You know what you sow is what you will reap
If you dig a pit then you will fall in it
Make a tail for your donkey and watch as I pin it

I’ll kick your ass and steal the football
I’ll pin your ass right against the wall
But wait that’s so violent and maybe obscene
I’ll tell you the truth and say what I mean

“The Lord will repay each man;
according to what he has done”
