The nights

Just as I thought
I found what I've been looking for
The world seems to change
Pushing me through another door

When I first saw you smile
My mind could never forget the beauty of your face
If only for awhile
Won't you let me hold you?

How does one explain
Something that took us by such a surprise?
All the promises we made
Our love was real

What will happen now?
Do I break another rule to myself?
And yet again play a fool
I really don't know-how
To stop feeling this way

Every time I hold your picture in my hand
I look into your eyes
The person I've been searching for
Is right there

Really wish I could give you more
You have my love which no one else
Will ever have
That is for you only

Until you tell me
We are done there is no chance
I will be waiting for our day
To come and heal together

My heart still holds out
That you will come home
Then we can make things right again
Making our love even stronger
