An Eye for Change
The eyelids a shutter, like a camera that captures each moment
Searching for validity and subsequently atonement
But what is stored is only what has enthralled the being
Vision goes beyond seeing
For the camera is composed of more than the eye
Look into the tear of the entity that made the cry
A body of senses that perceives it’s surroundings
From folly, to death, to new beginnings
Sometimes instead of a visual it captures
A plethora of all it makes and endures
It may only capture some words or emotion
That frightens it’s earthly repetitive motion
The brain determining the importance
Of action, in accordance
To law of the human nature inside
Using internal misfortune as it’s guide
Small snaps for a world so wide
For where is a human to burrow, to hide?
Each moment being a different outlet
One for happiness, for sadness, for regret
For nature, for nurture, for human kind
One to soothe a boundless mind
To understand you must look through the lens
Beyond what it relates to or what it defends
Of the foes, the enemies, the misunderstood
To relate to the deemed fallen, as well as the good
Anguish develops with misunderstanding
On this earth, what is worth withstanding?
Glance through the eye untold to you
To understand the reason for action beyond you
To conquer the other, to conquer oneself
Is the only way to conjure non-monetary wealth
Open your senses to all that you encounter, some minds in a cage
Remember victory is preserving the well-being of those you engage
About this poem
Just some food for thought. It is important to discern what you can and can’t control. Understanding “the enemy,” those you do not understand and the actions that follow, helps to make better decisions for yourself.
