Accomplishment Achieved
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
I've been told,
For as long as I can remember.
How blessed I was with natural talent.
And gifted with original creativity.
To do, if I wanted, to be a great actor.
In the field of entertainment.
Done to receive public notoriety.
I love to sing, write and dance.
Direct and produce.
With a sharing of my experiences.
To promote the talents of others.
In the hope to encourage them,
Not to fear the furthering...
Of their talents as well.
As I have grown older,
Pleased to know...
My biggest accomplishment achieved.
Has been the receiving of a peace of mind.
Notoriety to receive,
Could never change what I have to find.
Including awards or comments made,
From anyone just discovering to insist...
My gifts and talents,
I could become wealthy from it.
But...
I am not one to sit,
To stare at awards on walls to reminisce.
What I have done with more to get.
And money to have,
Is not my definition of happiness.
Or success to display,
What God has blessed me with.
Regardless who perceives,
Or assumes to believe...
My happiness to achieve is a delusion.
Although,
My delusion to find it lived...
Has been my greatest accomplishment,
God alone knows...
What it took me to achieve it.
With a doing to get it done.
Leaving me the one happy.
Without making pretentious appearances.
Thank YOU, God.
For the reality and truth of my life to live.
However...
If I am deserving of money in abundance,
Only YOU are aware...
Of the reality and truth of my situation.
And not an argument from me will YOU hear,
Disputing YOUR vision of my version...
Of my reality to interpret,
From YOUR point of view.
Amen!
