Dear Kyle

Oh how perfect you were for me,
I was infatuated,
You only live in denial,
I loved you,
but you cannot come to terms,
With what is real and what is fantasy,
You're afraid,
You build yourself up to being invincible,
But in reality you’re a scared little boy who is afraid of getting hurt,
I never planned to cause pain,
Just like I never meant to fall for you,
It only just blossomed,
But I’ll never make this mistake again,
I'll never be open again,
I closed myself off,
I'm robotic now,
Thanks for the lies,
And leading me on,
You forever live in denial,
I’m the one who got away,
And the life lesson you will have to learn.
