Don’t Tell Me Lies
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
Before you stand up speaking lies
To tell me that you love me
Remember that the truth is known
By those who stand above me
If post-traumatic stress disorder
Makes you scared to speak
Then do not be afraid to act
To please the One, you seek
Do it in a loving fashion
But do not spare the truth
Remember that it’s all you wanted
Since you were a youth
