Don’t Believe Me

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

With license plates from different states
They gather all around me
Some come with fear and some to cheer
Because of how they found me
And though they liked the words they heard
As I was speaking to them
My hope was they would grab the rope
And somehow be saved through them
You see the truth in the book of Ruth
Is you need a redeemer
Now Jesus Christ is coming twice
So, don’t call me a dreamer
When I have gone and flown away
If you’re not a believer
I’ll be replaced by someone else
Who might be a deceiver
