Éclaté
My heart is full of gratitude
To all those who taught me
The most important lesson in life...
You made me realise
what a fool I was!
Not once did I think
Your pleasant words
And sugary smile
Had a veiled purpose to beguile.
After you wrung all the trust
Out of my heart,
Why are y'all still baffled when I say
That 'trust' is a funny word?
After my heart was pulverized,
I fell in love with the stronger me.
No longer do anybody's words
Cut through my heart
Like a sharp knife;
No longer do I flee
From any situation
Life throws at me.
About this poem
It's funny how some people wonder why I have trust issues. They never care how I feel when they wring all the trust out of my heart and treat me like a joke. Writing makes me feel lighter when I am depressed because pages seem to understand my pain by hearing me out, unlike most people.
