The Bitter Truth
I keep wondering how ancient people lived in harmony
how everyone respected other people's privacy
peace, trust, every positive trait, even loyalty
yet the world has changed, has it though?
or people are just showing us sides we didn't know?
It's funny how life goes
birth, grow, age, all of those
in this world, we are mostly imposed
forced to live up to other's expectations
as if we'll receive their 'congratulations'
or at least improve our relations
it is all for dark, self-centered reasons
humans flaunt no matter the season
who am I to change the inevitable?
Our desires lead us to misery
greed occupies a massive part of our memory
we have what we need, nevertheless, we want more, much more actually
why can't we just get satisfied?
have a certificate in the Humble Realm, get certified
we never learn, do we? If only we knew how we could thrive
after all, things we want the most, are the things we can't have.
Power and the money, money and the power
minute after minute, that's all they want to shower
stepping on every person who doesn't fit their manner
wonder how their lives would look like if tables turned
life is a bitch, a lot can take place once chaos has formed
I'm sick of all this oppression and all the hate
all of those high statuses, their social rank
got a lot of pride deep in their guts
but not enough loyalty, that's facts.
People are forced to become old before the actual time
it is never easy, so try to stay in your prime
own your moments, mind your business
there is no other way out of this
sacrifices should be made for the greater good
it is compulsory no matter your mood
don't deny it, don't be such a fool
this is the bitter truth.
About this poem
Most people want to get things the easy way, it's either we enjoy the temporary bliss of paradise which will lead us into misery or face the truth no matter how bitter it is. This poem states life facts on how people change overtime, face hurdles and how they will deal with them too. Not much can be said, but life goes on no matter the price you pay.
