When I Look At You

When I look at you.
I see myself too.
In ways I use to refuse to see,
There is to be...
A familiar similarity.
Once to have denied,
That which I felt inside...
Yet,
I will admit...
Your attempts to try to tell me this,
I thought then ridiculous.

You see as I do now,
What I appeared to want to be outside...
No lie that I told to myself,
Would make no difference.
To believe kept hidden.
And from who?
With it to change,
More or less the value of it.
Than we were both born blessed to live.
And...
Experience it to get.
Regardless,
Who looks at either one of us.
Not as close as we have chosen to do.
With our eyes opened wide.
Recognizing,
The pointlessness...
Of those seeking to find their differences.
On the outside.
But not from the inside to compare,
Nothing there found is shallow!

When I look at you.
Really look at you?
You are more complex.
And a whole lot deeper than I thought!

And...
Believe this or not.
What I eat to digest,
Finds its way to be eliminated!

'No way?'

Yes!

'Me too!
Who knew?!'
