17 years

Mhm this is not a poem about my current age
Far from it.
But it's titled so because it'll probably be my most knowledgeable year
Knowledgeable in youth and aspiration
Dreams and wishes
An age where there's really nothing to my name
Or anything I have attained
But all I have so far, are mere words and feelings
Mere quotes and lyrics.
Mere thoughts and meanings
It's my most concerned year
A bridge between 18, 2 years then 20
Then what?
It's concerning because I have poisoned myself with galaxy height dreams
And black holed wishes
Yet it's such a quiet age,
I have experienced the forces of most emotions.
Lived a thousand lives, and counting
Loved so fiercely
Thought so stupidly and at times, acted on it
Seeing more of the universe and God.
It's probably the year I'll solidify my foundation for my house called life.
I have appreciated alot this 17th year
Overlooked a lot
I'm beginning to see the sketches of me
Whoever she is.
And damn it seems like she still has alot
She'll be alright

About this poem

I'll soon be celebrating another year hopefully. Time flies. I haven't been much invested in other years like this one. I feel so aware of the age. I really have no clue how to go about what I want for life. I matured at such a young age. But this year seems different. All in all, fragments of what I want, appreciation, gratitude, anger. I'm growing.
