Mary we believe
It has been
delightful growing old
the grandkids are so cute
they way they talk
the way they walk
organising thoughts
into tiny chunks
character games
with their dolls
and animate
and their trolls
Big Lego dinosaurs
with Bob the builder
cities in the green
something for everything
practicing pen and paper
red has three green four hiding from the monster
knocking at the door
ratatat who is that
only grandma pussycat
catch me if you can
I close my eyes sleep
look up to the skies
I see feel the fresh air
and the green grass
standing up down here
like a Daisy awoken
pointing towards the sun
bathing with a Frangipani
with the waters on the run transpiring in a cyclical motion through the xylem
and the phloem
off you go up to the clouds
someone needs you now
a gift made for the masses
and all Earth's classes
rich to poor fat and thin
the love within these walls
nevertheless angel dove
we stand tall and last
for the test of time
like the great wall in the flesh we come love do our best but one day we
meet our match not
as we believe while
those tiny miniscule cells can do so much damage
multiplying one after
the other they reach out
grab another pull them in
building up a watermelon cyst we cut out and off it goes again like ants on a farm building miles of tunnels can do no harm
one day they'll chuck
it all in the bin such a sin
but for my Rose she glides
like a butterfly in the wind
radiates all the colours
of twin rainbows looking
out across to Kira Beach
on the other side of
Coolangatta as crimson and red violets and blues
come out to play with you
the deep blue sea rolls in
and drifts back out
leaving us with just a sound like that of silence
repeats herself over
drifting off into the distance to a far off place
something akin to itself
not the human race
something we were given
farewell my only sunshine
I believe I'll be seeing you
in Heaven
