Darn Dog

As I sit on a bench in the park
The pigeons compete with one another for seed,
my thoughts drift into the galaxy as they feed.

The squirrels harvest food for the winter,
far, far, into reverie, I have entered.

To see the transformation of chlorophyll in the once green leaves, oh the peace, serenity, my mind is so at ease.

The passerby walk, jog, run, keeping their pace,
my Body is buoyant, my mind goes deep, deep, deeper into space.

Out of nowhere comes a LOUD piercing bark,
I am awakened.....
As I sit on a bench in the park.
