O my country Nigeria
O my country Nigeria
When would we recover
From all this hardships and bad governments
How and when did our leaders become so lenient?
A good education
For the younger generation
Should be our priority
Bit what our leaders think of is extravangancy
Is that our literacy?
Nigeria a blessed Nation
With no natural disaster related deformations
Where did it all go wrong?
And how long will all this prolong?
A Nation blessed with natural resources
Africa's largest economy
But turns her back to it sources
Is that our literacy?
A Nation meant to be United as one
Yet you stomp into a religious Institution
Pulling the trigger of your gifted gun
Wasting lives, claiming you're fighting for God
Is that our literacy?
In my own motherland
Cowering in fear
A blood stained sand
And our leaders don't seem to care
Is that our literacy?
O my country Nigeria
Still in darkness
Where are our leaders regardless?
A Nation that gives no damn to education
But filled with religious discrimination
Is that our literacy?
Sleeping with one eye closed
For the fear of the unknown
When will all this be disposed?
When will our nation atone?
A Nation with lackadaisical attitude
To the educational sector
With no gratitude
Or correction
Is that our literacy?
Where are my rights?
Right to education
Right to life
Right to freedom of speech
Right to freedom of movement
Right to freedom of thoughts, conscience and religion
Right to protection from discrimination
Right to petition without favourable justification
Where is literacy?
Where is legitimacy?
A Nation with no care about the rule of law
Where is that supremacy?
