The Tree

Stand tall and proud
Soak your roots deep inside earth
Beauty lies in eyes of beholder
Be content with natural beauty.

No poem is as lovely as tree
Tree whose hungry mouth prest
Against earth sweet flowing breast.
Tree that looks to God all day
Lift leafy arms to pray
Tree song of nature
Poem of life
Stand tall and proud.

A tree that we gaze
House to robins
Upon whose blossom has snow lain.
Who intimately lives with rain.

Don't cut it
Don't hurt it
Gives life to us
Care for us.
