I wonder what it’s like
I wonder what it’s like to be older, wiser and grey.
As a kid we played all day without any worries.
Our imaginations took us places we’d never imagine.
So eager to get out of school only to scrape our knees.
We moved on through the pain took a napkin , wiped the blood off moved on.
No need to look in the future ,time stood still , and for a moment we’d thought this was forever, but now years flow by like a quick moving disease.
We couldn’t stop It.
Year after year day after day the worst part was my
Imagination had gone away.
A little older a little grey
It began today.
Guess I blinked too soon.
Wished my childhood away yet all it took is one simple wish.
I wondered what it was like to be 30, and a bit grey.
It’s hard to say the least,
No rewind , no pause.
Fast forward is the only option in the way.
I wondered what it was like to be older, wiser and grey.
Time can only be defined by a minuscule chapter in one persons life, one in a billion in the world we all have a book, a sense of living.
A sense of adventure, imagination, bliss....
I could keep going about it. I’d wish I could of stayed.
Being 5 had some better days.
I wondered what it was like to be older , wiser and grey
And today I stand here in hopes of a pause.
I’m not ready to age
I’m not ready to grey
I’m not ready to go
About this poem
Not too sure. I don’t write much but that day I was feeling like life was moving too fast and for once I slowed it down with some words. Felt kind of like an escape to write what I felt.
