Prison

Prison
Prison is tiny cells
Long passages
High walls
Separating man from his freedom

Prison is barbed wire fence
Iron bars
Padlock gates and safes
Master keys kept within no man's reach

Prison is batons
Handcuffs
Electrical shields
For minimum force against the body of man

Prison is men and women in orange overalls
Juveniles in oversize shoes
Building; cultivating
Cleaning
Sometimes against their will

Prison is supper at two o'clock
Limited conversation with love ones
Restricted movement
non stop searching and life in solitude

Prison is cockcroaches
Rats
Cats
Worms claiming space in overcrowded rooms

Prison is a razor quicker than lightning
Cutting through human ribs
Prison is laugher and tears at the same time
Prison is respect earned through man's oozing blood
Prison is Grey haired men crying ' mama'

About this poem

This poem is a call that we should remain law abiding citizens and avoid committing crime as doing so leads to spending valuable time in jail
