My Wife
My Wife
Copyright February 2018 Noel Singletary
My wife, my beautiful wife,
you lit up my heart and put love in my life.
Though we never had a child of our own,
We each had one, and both are now grown.
I loved the way you held my hand,
while we listened to the country band.
I said I'll love you all the days of my life,
and never forget that you are my wife.
Dreaming of you till the morning light,
Then your kisses assure me, we'll be alright.
The love that I feel for you will always be,
it's the one thing that makes my heart sing.
I look forward to us growing old,
but I feel that you must be told.
I want you to know every now and again,
that life without you would be dreary and cold.
You are all I have ever wanted,
when I am with you I am undaunted.
Love is crazy with it's twists and turns,
But it is for you only, that my heart yearns.
The kids are grown and have moved away,
we now live our lives, day by day.
When we grow old and my time is near,
we can talk about the memories we held dear.
When I am called home by great God above,
Just know I am watching and sending my love.
And when your time comes, don't be afraid,
I will be waiting, and your debts have been paid.
