Reminiscing

They say life is short and I somewhat agree
I once was a child so full of glee
But now here I am in my old rocking chair
Rocking backwards and forwards with a head of grey hair

No more do I dance to my favourite songs
Or spend many hours at the  magazine stand
No time has flown by in a blink of the eye
Why does a day pass so slowly yet a year wizzes by?

So as I sit here in my old rocking chair
I cling to my memories that I don’t want to share
Yes life can be short but at least I’m still here
Rocking backwards and forwards in my old rocking chair.
