The Burning Door
Sha'Miah Rose 2005 (Fitzgerald)
January 23I can show you all of the pain that I feel
but I’ll rather tell you, so you can imagine
the hurt that’s within my soul
then you’ll be able to see what’s inside
of my burning door
…………………………………………………
My soul is trapped, My soul is buried deep down under the flames of the burning door
Buried in lies, anger and self loathing pain
Constantly feeling scared and ashamed
Trying to break free of the hurt and pain. That leaves my soul in abyss
The hell that I am in has my soul chained with each pull that it takes to escape makes my spirit decay
My life is not my own anymore as my flesh reside outside of the burning door. Watching the demise of its own soul
Lord I need saving, but I can’t help myself
I am a wondering soul searching for answers in all of the wrong places. I say I want freedom but haven’t picked up my Bible that’s what you call someone who doesn’t know if they want saving.
I have been standing and seeing my soul burn for years watching my failure grow. Observing the domain the burning door has over my spirit and soul
The burning door whispers to me at night as I sleep, the constant reminder that I’ll never be free
As my soul travels through the burning door there are little fires everywhere.
There are mirrors all around. Representing the hatred that I have for myself.
Within each mirror it’s apart of my life
And I’m constantly reminded of all of the pain that I have felt. Not being wanted by your mother, your father is never here crying on the floor thinking about ways I can kill myself.
Is it easier to touch fire or watch it from a distance
if I touch the fire with my soul the little sanity that I have left will forever be lost. But as my flesh stands outside of the burning door at a distance she realize that her sanity she has already lost
So as she stood from a distance tears falling down from her eyes, knowing that her soul and spirit has died she discerned that she was the cost of her own departure from her awakening life.
About this poem
What is the burning door? What does it symbolize? * The burning door is anxiety, depression, fear, bitterness, trials and tribulations, anything that’s holding your soul back from freedom.
