Missing the Rest

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

You marry those who have no part,
And with God won’t share their heart,
You test and try everything He says.
Just like somehow you might know best,
You wonder as your Father is grieved,
If all of His words can be believed,
Yes, every word of God is true!
And if you knew Him, you’d believe that too!
But you don’t believe, you’re too self-centered!
So, into His rest, you will never enter!
