Restless wanderer

I am a restless wanderer
I lay down but never sleep.
My mind leaves my body
it wanders into the deep.
Thoughts, ideas, visions I have
making my world so small,
if I could live all day like that
it would be very off the wall.
Colours, light, darkness I see
variations of my reality.
Time stops then starts again
why does my mind need to bend
into insanity into creativity
into these illusions in the night?
My wandering will never cease I know,
until the time is right.
