**Patterns of Life**

What once was old
somehow, gets new again
The things we've done,
we seem to do again

Creation's  wheel
goes 'round and 'round
All that goes up
must then come down

The heart of God
That steady beat
The cosmic clock
ticks at its speed

Its rhythm goes
eternally
It's in our souls
It's in our seed

Cycles of life
flow like a stream
The mind awakes,
and then it dreams

First, we are young
Then we are old
Our bodies die
New life takes hold

And, so it goes
That's all we know
