Jesus is the Christ

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Some men have green thumbs but I have green toes
From removing the weeds from my vineyard as it grows
The fruit of the real vine tastes sweet yes indeed
And the fruit of that vine is all I’ll ever need

You can’t hide the truth from the ones who will seek it
Jesus is the Christ and the rocks even speak it
Try lifting one up, and if you’ll just listen close
He’ll tell you, don’t do it, it belongs to the Host

The Host is our Lord, and our Lord is the King
Jesus held out His hands to give us everything
So why do you fight and steal things from each other?
Everything you have should be shared with your brother
