The Mirror

This heart was disenchanted from the start
before her conscience
sets us apart.

Erase the words
churned in my heart,
from the misguided impairment
that drove us apart.

Fragile words, spoken before I
before her judgment.
She took the unkind words of her soul
and created those unseen wounds.
These wounds that have been passed down to me.
these words, though they remain,
I will unwind – in due time
from the mirror of her mind.

About this poem

I wrote this poem because when I look in the mirror,I see the relative, who disenchanted my heart.
