THE PREACHERMAN

The preacher man tried to take my voice
He acted as if I had no choice
He told me to shut up in a sarcastic way
Who am I? I dare to disobey
The onlookers waved their rags in my face
They looked upon me with such disgrace
As if I didn't belong to the human race

The preacher man sliced me on Sunday
I sob all night until Monday
The wounds he administered was very deep
He spoke about me as if I was cheap
The blood kept running but he didn't care
Oh! how I wish I wasn't there
With humility I held my head up high
But in my heart no one saw my cry

Preacher man! I am dying inside
I left his office wanted to commit suicide
I wrote him a book with the entire truth
He toss it aside, and went on mute
He didn't address none of the abuse
I felt so helpless and even use
Trying to find a common ground
But I couldn't speak for I was bound

Preacher man held me hostage with his words
With no remorse for damage, he had caused
Preacher man I used to trust,
Until I found out he's so unjust
I hate him, so he claimed
Why should I take that selfish blame
And bring disloyalty even shame

I am so trustworthy I speak my mind
With humility as the subject line
Preacher man call me a bull head
For speaking the truth of what was said
I know one day he'll admit he was wrong
Until then, I will stay brave and strong
All I needed was to live in peace
But talking to him I got no released

Bitter! Bitter! that is who you are
It resonate in my heart near and far
He treated me as if I was insane
My body paralyzed, I was drained
He acted as if he cared for me
Until I told him my account empty
He didn't take me seriously
And thought I was seeking self-pity

When preacher man throw words,
 It fall like rain
They hit me hard as it reached my brain
That is how the preacher showed loyalty
When he was done mocking this royalty
That’s the price I had to pay
From a preacher who left me in disarray
Standing up for my rights, he said, am to bright
What’s in the dark must come to light!

Preacher man, I forgive you this for sure
You were only standing up
For the one you adore
Healing and restoration you said, you are for
But you inflict wounds that has no cure
The scar you place, cannot be erased
No accountability for your actions I know
We are brothers in Christ, I hope we’ll grow!

About this poem

This poem is base on a true story. I wrote it to express myself of how I was feeling and the adversities that I had faced from a preacher man who I thought could helped me.
