Peace of mind

Angela Adrianse 1978 (Michigan)

This house that stands before me
terrifying fears from my past
only I can see
I take a step inside
to relive that darkest day of mine
the moment my heart and soul died
Dark secrets and full of regret
painful memories
I will never forget
As time passes by
I am still standing here
asking myself why
So I take a deep breath
and wonder
peace of mind
will I ever find

About this poem

It's about the pain and guilt that people may hold inside and don't let go of those feelings but want peace inside.
