UN-WANTED

Suzanne Sotelo 1980 (Bartow, fl)

Life I'd short and sometimes sweet. Along the way we tend to creep. Meeting new people on a regular basis, many of them different races. One thing leads to another, next thing noticed, you're going to be a mother. Not planned or expected, how could this have been earlier detected?
Unsure on what to do, but things like this happens when you screw. Few months remaining before he's here and your heart fills with nothing but fear. Someone you can turn to for support, scared feeling inside and out. Doing this alone is your only doubt. Single yourself, not ready to commit and the father can't be man enough or even admit he screwed up in more ways then one- yet blind to see he's going to have a son, but what's done is done.  Changes may happen when this baby arrives, but will the fatherever realize?
Pain vaused in many ways, what else is there for me to say? The day will come for questions to be answered.  I'll leave the choice up to my son, to ask his father "why he was named the unwanted bastard?"

About this poem

I wrote this poem in 2003 about my son, that's was removed at 2 days old for me smoking pot. He was put up for adoption and almost 20yrs later I believe I wrote this about myself. Although I watched my mother die of cancer, I've known a woman for 11yrs that claimed to be my cousin. My belief Is she is my mother, lied about dying, and has another child in another state.....when I gave my ALL to raise hers and lost mine along the way
