Beauty In Disguise
Like dew at sun’s early light
Innocence, bliss, at first glance
Fresh and weightless; I take upon thee
Further, prancing your refreshing prance
Apart of me, and me of you
For you are I, perceived with truth
Pruned, shelled, somewhat refused
Together free; strings cut, yet moved
Dew, seldom; doth receiving light
Remaining, yet it does
Opposite, polar, not half as bright
Falling lunar, shadowing the sun
The dew, once glistening in rise
Does still in the fall,
Still: Not half as bright
Yet significant, to me, it all
About this poem
I wrote this poem to show that beauty and meaning can still be found in things even as they change or fade away.
