The god Of Beauty
I’ve been blindfolded and spoon fed; abased in the decadence of comparison to the still frame, motion picture tolerance and fanatic praise. All hail the god of beauty. But they measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves among themselves are not wise so all hail the fool.
All hail the voice whispering or screaming that you are not enough. Why are we listening to a fool? Becoming doctrinally impregnated by a stronghold then giving birth in a sweet September to a self hatred that could destroy our very purpose; because we wanted to be beautiful.
More beautiful than Solomon in all his glory. Than oceans at sunset or sunrise created in wisdom from the foundation before time held an increase or a retraction of itself. But we have put down reality for a pipe dream fallacy telling us to dance on strings; moving to the music like puppets in sequence to the lust that places it’s magnetic weight on our being. We’ve traded our power for seeing; an image we could live with, a reflection we could get with and a lie we could envision as truth.
I’ve been blindfolded and spoon fed; abased in the decadence of comparison to the still frame, motion picture tolerance and fanatic praise. All hail the god of beauty.
About this poem
I realized that my desire to obtain a socially acceptable form of beauty had become a lust and in that lust I had lost myself. Beauty had almost become a diety to seek after. All over the world it’s this way. I wanted to take my power back.
