4:52 AM

your eyes were always so beautiful
I imagined them as they typed out that goodbye message
vibrant hues of sea foam, glossed over with strife
and in those dreams I stare a little longer
because I knew that was the only time I was able to see them
I held your hands, cold and soft
knowing it would be the only time I could bring you close to me
I told myself it was okay
it didn’t matter
so I wonder why it still hurt so much
I took off the bracelet with your city name on it
it had been so long
I couldn’t take off the necklace
maybe I’ll wear it for the rest of my life
