Pain

Pain, oh how it burns within,
A raging fire, a punishing sin.
It grips and twists, tearing apart,
Breaking the body and the heart.

No refuge from its cruel embrace,
No respite, no moment of grace.
It lingers on, a constant ache,
A weight that no one can shake.

It steals the joy from every day,
Leaves only tears and words to say,
The agony that won't subside,
The price we pay for being alive.

But even in this darkest night,
There is a glimmer of hope in sight.
For pain can teach us to be strong,
To rise above and carry on.

So let us not be ruled by fear,
But face the pain and persevere.
For in the struggle, we may find,
A peace that heals the heart and mind.
