War

While you are sick,
You are at war with your mind
A war of attrition
One side is stronger than the other,
With bigger cannons and more reason to fight
The other is weak
The other side has no cause

One side is armed with bullets of titanium
That pierce straight through flesh,
And leave venom in the wound
The other equipped with nothing but copper shields
That bend and creak with each bullet taken

One side is fighting,
The other gave up the moment the war started
They take the bullets and stand in an open field,
Helpless
Not trying to defend themselves or fight back
They've accepted their fate
