Old Dog

Old Dog
By Analeigh Nelson

Sweet old dog that I have found
By this tree where you are bound
Let me take a look around -
Your chains I will unwind.

Tell me, is it he or she?
What all have they done to thee?
No water or food I see -
Pray, when did you last dine?

Let me take you home my friend
Where you can begin to mend
And to you I shall attend-
Your injuries I will bind.

You are now forever free
From who bound you to that tree
This I promise you will see-
That people can be kind.

So lay down your gentle head
Here upon my comfy bed
Now that you are warm and fed
And leave the past behind.
