What ever after

Whatever happens after the year ends,
I know we will always remain friends.
You were there through it all,
And I was always ready to catch your fall.
A bond like ours could never be broken,
Whether by action or foul word spoken.
And after it all, in the end,
Nothing will stop me from being your friend.

Whatever happens after we are out of school,
Whether we are wise or a silly fool,
Our friendship will last, and never cease,
We will find our way to peace.
When I look up and see your picture on my wall,
I’ll think of the good times, and cherish them all.
And after it all, in the end,
Nothing will stop me from being your friend.

Whatever happens after our life moves on,
I’ll be glad that our time was not forgone.
You’ll in my mind whenever I pray,
And in my heart until my dying day.
I will always be ready to offer a helping hand,
Cause you have made my life so grand.
And after it all, in the end,
Nothing will stop me from being your friend.

About this poem

When my best friend was having mental health issues, I was told I may never see her again. I made this poem for her.
