Where is the Sun?

Two people, same flesh, same bones
One filled with joy
the other drowning in her own thoughts
One overpowering the other
The happiness nonexistent compared to the darkness

Living life in a infinite thunderstorm
The thunder cloud resting above her each night
Reminding her of her sorrows
Girl just wants to see the sun again
but is clouded by her past
Struck repeatedly by the lightning created in her head

Who knew someone would find comfort in their darkness
She became so used to the dark, the light frightened her
Blacking out her built up walls so no sunshine could peek through the cracks

Every night girl is soaked from her own rain
Wheres the sun when you need to dry up that rain?
Every morning girl looks out her window and sees the sun only to realize it’s millions of miles away from her reach.

A poem written by me in a dark place in my life , feeling no way out of the darkness in my life . Just wanting to be happy but feeling no way of knowing how to feel happiness.
