My Guitar Will Never Turn Me Down
Sittin’ in my room all day long
Strummin’ my guitar and hittin’ the bong
I write 15 maybe 20 songs
But there’s no one here to sing along
Sittin’ in my room all day long
I Wanna Be Sedated on the radio
So I strum along with The Ramones
“Nothing to do, nowhere to go”
“I can’t control my fingers and I can’t control my toes”
“Hurry, hurry, hurry before I go loco!”
No way to explain what’s been done
I’ve been spun into oblivion
I’m feeling dumb, stuck down in a funk
Cuz my girlfriend left me for no one
So I grab my guitar and hit the distortion!
Cuz she’s the only one who’ll never let me down
She’s the only one who’ll always be found
She’s the only one who’ll never kick me out
She’ll take it quiet but she likes it loud
My guitar will never turn me down
Her six necklaces of silver and bronze
Sound so sweet with the chorus on
To pic, pluck, bend, stretch, slide, and strum
All night long ‘til the new day comes
Broken strings will never break our bonds
Her ebony body of twisted curves
Always able to settle my nerves
When I press my body up against hers
She gives me a feeling so superb
She’s the greatest thing you’ve never heard
Even when my fingers are broken and bruised
Even when my amp’s got a blown out fuse
Even when I got nothing more to lose
In the middle of the night at half past two
My guitar will cure my blues
Cuz she’s the only one who’ll never let me down
She’s the only one who’ll always be found
She’s the only one who’ll never kick me out
She’ll take it quiet but she likes it loud
My guitar will never turn me down
