Falling in Love Again
In the dawn of a brand new day,
Where sunlight paints the sky with gold,
I feel the warmth, it starts to sway,
As love's sweet tale begins to unfold.
Once guarded hearts begin to mend,
From memories of the past, set free,
A journey towards a love to tend,
A dance of hearts, a symphony.
In hesitant steps, we take the chance,
To open doors we closed before,
A second glance, a new romance,
In love's embrace, we both explore.
The beauty of this second start,
Like flowers blooming in the spring,
A fluttering beat within my heart,
With you, I feel I can take wing.
Each passing moment seems to glow,
As feelings deepen, hearts align,
In love's embrace, we both will grow,
A love that's rare, and quite divine.
Falling in love again, it seems,
An unexpected, wondrous flight,
Together weaving endless dreams,
Painting our world with pure delight.
Though scars of old may still remain,
They do not dim this love so bright,
For in your arms, I find my flame,
With you, I see a shining light.
So, here we stand, two souls entwined,
Embracing love's sweet, sweet refrain,
In this new love, we both will find,
A love that's true, and free from pain.
With every beat, our spirits blend,
In love's sweet dance, forever swayed,
Falling in love again, my friend,
In your warm heart, my love, I've stayed.
About this poem
This poem came from a dinner date I had with my husband. Behind him, there was a middle-aged couple that were clearly on their first date. I could tell because they had all this nervous energy. She was talking too loudly, and he was talking too fast. And it was just cute all around. By the end of the dinner, I could tell they felt more relaxed, had calmed down some and we destined to have a second date.
