Melissa
Melissa is a teenager
Who's good in martial arts
To defend those who are in danger
That's where the fighting starts
She's 25 years old that time
When she saved a bullied kid
Everything went well and fine
And the boy's name is Reed
20 years went swiftly by
Melissa's husband died
5 more years had clearly passed
When her daughter missed a class...
She came home in shock that day
A mess with nothing else to say
Melissa abruptly hugged her with care
And listen to what she has to share
An armed man tried to take her away
But a good guy saved her all the way
He did his best to help her escape
Ensured that she'll be safe
He was shot 2 times in the head
Badly wounded and then dead
Help arrived but it was too late
The good guy sadly met his fate
They both attended his funeral
Unable to grasp his death so fatal
Someone stood up to read a speech
Something written by the deceased
"I was 8 when a girl saved me
From the cruel hands of a bully
I made a promise to do the same
To honor that woman's name
In the event of my untimely death
How I wish that promise was met
And if I actually did
This note you must read...
I was a bullied kid
Whose name was Reed!"
