Twilight signs

Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)

Stars suspended in the night skies
Ride upon our consciousness

forming a canopy above us
as we gaze upwards,

seems we look into our very souls.

From
one moment of eternity
to the next…

Wondering, how many times
this has been done in our past.

Even as a less knowing sense
of being,

assigning deity to what was observed,

Perhaps leading to where on earth we are
With crude to technically proficient
navigating tools,

from calendars to slide rules,
distant light glowing in our eyes

never revealing their true nature

As they appear to be hovering,
even more in reality

Like leaves
flowing beside us in a stream…

Glowing spheres of pulsating energy,
Just beyond our comprehension,

if intersections to/from other dimensions
affect our reality,

Strongly touching our emotions
as tides turn in our spirituality,

its significance becomes what it is,

just another thing we love to do together

Sharing this moment of eternity,

pondering our purpose

or simply something to wish upon

Among these stars i love to share

With you
