The Silent Poet

Residing high in an abandoned building
In an anonymous city can be found
A hermit poet was existing
Writing poetry without making a sound

The ghetto was his neighborhood view
Ruins surrounded every street
Wrote to reimagine slums into something new
His poetry turned sour into sweet

Walking around the city among the poor
Trying to find the poetic hermit
Expecting he was still writing more
Beautiful poems his silence would permit

Discovered him high above a rooftop
He appeared to be sitting on a cloud
Meditating while staring directly up
Chanting poetry without speaking out loud
