Troubled Minds

In the oilseed fields of a hell-rocked mind,
Where shadows of torment are finely entwined,
There blooms a tale of psyche's enigma,
Where sanity falters, and silence is stigma.

Beneath the surface, in depths profound,
The demons of scarsong, their secrets unbound,
A wounded soul, scarred by the past,
Slit by souvenirs that shall forever last.

Innocence lost to dead flowering nightmares' sway,
A heart once whole, now bears the dismay,
But in the midst of this dark despair,
A glimmer of hope, a whisper of prayer.

For cathartic words, like a soothing balm,
Speak of strength amidst the endless nil charm,
In nature's embrace, one finds healing grace,
A refuge from life's peremptory race.

The fields, the fawn, the earth, and the sky,
Hold secrets of solace, where spirits can fly,
In nature's hush, a sanctuary is found,
Where wounds are nursed, and peace can abound.

So, let us remember, when tempests hold you captor,
Healing is possible as the soul’s casting anchor,
In forgiveness' embrace, we will find our way,
Sea-dancing through the night and into Blue Bay.

About this poem

I wrote this poem while in hospital for my depression and OCD. This alludes to how I processed trauma and has subtle references to past events. I hope it shows how good a coping mechanism writing is and that hope is there!
