Trying to Cheat Death

To the young and daring

trying to beat destiny
and cheat fate

being reckless and daring

is a stage in life for some
in that i can relate

In the balance of life
Between love and hate

though
even heroes can only laugh
In the face of death

Until they run out
of breath
