Mountaintops

Oscar Auliq-Ice 1994 (Port Elizabeth)

Every time I gaze upon the stars
I climb, reaching peaks where dreams aren't far
Every sight, a beacon that ignites
The fire that warms the coldest nights

You show me mountaintops
Guide me to places where time stops
Can't resist these mountaintops
You show me mountaintops
Lifting me where the horizon pops
Can't resist these mountaintops

From the beginning, it felt so profound
Your words, echoing nature's sound
Never did I think I'd find this drive
With you, my spirit feels alive

You show me mountaintops
Guide me to places where time stops
Can't resist these mountaintops
You show me mountaintops
Lifting me where the horizon pops
Can't resist these mountaintops

You and I
Journey true
Through and through
For this view

I can't hold back
This passion's spree
With every track
Leading me

You show me mountaintops
Lifting me to spaces nonstop
Can't resist these mountaintops
You show me mountaintops
Elevate my soul, make my heart hop
Can't resist these mountaintops

You show me mountaintops
Leading to places where dreams drop
I just can't stop, I just can't stop
You show me mountaintops
Elevate my soul, make my heart hop
The allure of these heights, can't flop, can't flop

You lead me to visions that truly defy
Visions of grandeur, under the sky
I never knew this elevation
Could inspire such elation
You show me sights that truly astound
Wonder so vast, unbound
I never knew the sky so blue
Until I climbed these heights with you.
