Heartfelt Refuge Rhapsody : Mi Casa Su Casa
A home, a shelter, four walls to call one's own,
Is more than just wood, brick and stone.
It's a refuge, a sanctuary, a place of peace,
Where burdens can be released.
So open the door, make room inside,
For others seeking warmth, for those with no place to hide.
Borders and nations, lines drawn in the sand,
Fade away when we join hand in hand.
Rich or poor, whichever shore,
We're all just searching for an open door.
Big or small, grand or modest,
Every house can be a hopeful fortress.
Walls may divide, fences conceal,
But kindness dissolves what hatred can't heal.
If we close the gaps, bridge the spaces between,
A little light gets in, small miracles are seen.
I don't have a palace, but I have enough.
Come in from the cold, there's shelter here, it's tough
To be out there alone, lost and displaced.
Here, weary hearts can rest in a warm embrace.
My home is humble, but the table is set.
Simple provisions for one more I can get.
Though cups may be cracked and the pantry bare,
There's always room for one more chair.
I cannot promise riches, but I can provide
A place where hurt souls can confide.
Stories shared ease the heaviest load,
As friendship builds a peaceful abode.
Beyond language, a look speaks care.
Behind cultures, humanity we share.
If we quiet the noise that divides and conceals,
The whispers of our spirits the same tale reveals.
Yes, my house is small, but the welcome mat is out.
Come inside, let compassion erase fear and doubt.
In sheltering others, ourselves we heal.
This is the sacred light each heart can reveal.
No mansion required to give refuge from the storm.
Just open minds and hearts transformed.
If we tear down the walls that separate and divide,
In uplifting each other, our spirits rise.
I don't have much, but I can build a longer table,
Where strangers become neighbors, fables become truth.
Beyond race or creed, age or stage,
There are always open pages in the book of human kinship.
Olive branch extended, a bridge over troubled water,
We journey side by side, sons and daughters
Of one Creator, one human race.
Come inside, find spare sanctuary in this place.
Hatred seeks to split and sever,
But love unites us forever.
Though the darkness may seem dense,
There's light enough for faith's defense.
Particles of wisdom over time amass.
Drop by drop, we fill this glass.
Thirsty hearts drink deep and gain clearer sight,
When we bring our lamps together, darkness takes flight.
My home's not perfect, sometimes messy and frayed.
But hearts find home in hands that give aid.
However humble, my shelter gives cover,
To pull each other through the storm as one, not "other."
If we share the weight, burdens feel lighter.
When souls unite, our vision grows brighter.
Beyond the walls that guard the heart,
A boundless world we can chart.
So I'll leave the light on, the door open wide.
We suffer when compassion is denied.
If you're searching for refuge from cruelty and harm,
There's room enough in here to shelter from the storm.
My house is small, but love makes it swell.
Opening hearts, we banish fear's spell.
Peace takes root when when souls align.
Come inside, friend, in hope make yourself at home. This home is yours, this home is mine.
