Living in words

Laurie Edberg 1966 (Sechelt)

When I live in words

I feel challenged,
I feel free,
I feel centered.

To live in words,
Is to be in essence,
To envision ,
To be graceful.

The greats of yesteryear,
Painted images,
They put images to operas and song,
Or verse.

Words tamed the shrew,
The  mischievous puck
Or expressions of hamlet.

The heart sways,
The body feels the rhythm,
The eyes engulf the words
The ears are charmed.

To live in words,
Is to be free of the external world.
