Succumb to Me
Can you see the leaves falling, creating a blanket for the earth
Orange, red, and yellow swirling in the crisp morning air
Notice the elegance of the way they move, dancing to the music of the wind
Never mind what's soon to come, the pallet of white that floods the future
Only see what is happening now, the way the planet changes, as you change with it
Remember the times you had as a child, playing in the piles of leaves that you now admire so dearly
Scare the children on Saint Hallow’s Eve, scare the demons away with it, as was tradition
Come as a ravenous wolf, waiting to feed on the dangling mortality of his prey
October fades, November comes, reminding us to remember the fifth
Time passes, the vendetta is gone, and we are thankful for that
Thankful for the family we never had, or the friends who all disappeared
Savor the memories, for they turned you into who you are, and thank yourself
Mid November blues will disappear, and the cold December takes it's place
Awake with the view of ice, and sleep to the sound of snow
Never will you be lonely when the cold grip of death claims you as theirs to hold
Listen, can you hear your pain? I can make it go away
I will come in the form of comfort, pulling you in until it is too late to turn back
Slumber awaits you, and I cannot promise you will wake up from this one
Hear me now, when I say you will be missed, even if there is no one to miss you
Move, follow me into darkness, come meet your eternal companion
Allow yourself to succumb to me, the sweet embrace of sin
Near the end of life with me, and I will make your death feel like everlasting life
