The Flame

Alan J Carom 1958 (Swansea)

I can see the cries that come from your eyes. They make me want to lay down and die. But you must stay alive so that I can survive. Please don't deprive me of one last kiss. That is the only thing I would miss. I'm helpless without you by my side. I have already lost all my pride. There is nothing left for me to hide. The tide comes in and goes out. But I still sit here in the sand and call your name out. But every day is the same. The breeze has blown out the flame, and now I sit here in shame.
