Premature Love

Faffing, flapping, feeling sick to my stomach at the thought,
Knowing the unlikeliness that I will see him once more,
The only man that can twist me in knots to my core,
Doubt and regret encourage tears down to my jaw,

Not knowing if I’m standing in my power or collapsing to the floor,
My mind plays over and over, upside down, back and forth,
Respecting the decision but all I want to do is talk,
Why can’t I clearly see what the universe has in store?

I will keep seeking the truth until I know for sure,
Can only drink the water that’s clear and pure,
An old time love, maybe too premature,
Just know that you were mine just as I was yours
