What is to believe ?

Innocent Maatjie 1995 (Mpumalanga)

Spokenword ( poem )

" Believe "

What is to believe?
Its the one thing that most of us fail in for as long as we live
We fail to believe even in the simplest of things
I have seen believers believe and i have marvelled in the joy it brings
I believe there is heaven and hell
I believe there are a lot of innocent people serving time in a prison cell
I believe there is more to that Enyobeni incident
I believe there is more to find behind the money found in the resort owned by the president
You may not believe but there is a God who gives us the air in our lungs to live
There is a being greater than us to thank for the air we breathe
Maybe i am crazy to believe, maybe i am not
But my faith has taught me to be thankful for a lot
Some believe in those who are gone
While others believe the death of one will surely be replaced by a new born
